BEST FOOD TRUCKS IN ASHEVILLE I SHAABINGO JAMAICAN STREET FOOD by Chef ken Bahford
Why?
Because every single meal I tried in 2024 from this food truck has made me lick my fingers and oftentimes I drool! However, there is one meal that stands out above the rest, not because is better, not at all, but because it truly pushes the envelope in many ways and for that, I STRONGLY suggest you try the mind blowing OXTAIL DEEP FRIED PIZZA from SHAABINGO FOOD TRUCK in Asheville.
I know this sounds weird, in fact, when Chef Ken Bahford invited me to come try it, I was sceptical of what I was getting myself into.
THIS PIZZA DIDN’T SOUNDED GOOD TO ME, I was thankful for the invitation, but honestly I WAS NOT THRILLED by what he described.
I talked myself into trying it, because I also believe it is good for everyone to step out of our comfort zone and to try different foods, especially when they have multicultural components like this deep fried pizza.
This pizza is a great addition to my Asheville Multicultural must haves as you are in for a trip with every bite to: Italy- Jamaica- Spain, and México, as it is served with stew to dip it in like a quesabirria!
This pizza has much going for it, and if you ever see it in his menu GO FOR IT, as I have it as one of my MUST HAVE IN ASHEVILLE.
As I watched him prepare it, and still not convinced, I asked him to give me a small serving because I wanted to try something else.
Quite honestly, there are very few meals that I like deep fried, and I don’t eat them very often.
However, this Oxtail Deep Fried Pizza is UNBELIEVABLE and AWESOME! This was a huge surprise to me, because I LOVED every single bite of it, and I’m now very glad Ken invited me to SHAABINGO JAMAICAN STREET FOOD for this very KICK ASS PIZZA.
I’m always going to remember this day, because never in a million years I would have thought the combinations of ingredients could be so great.
