ASHEVILLE’S BILINGUAL ADVERTISING AGENCY.
The goal of Asheville Multicultural is to highlight the rich cultural diversity in Asheville
Dear Asheville foodie, get excited because you are about to discover something so unique, primitive, and authentic. It is amazing we can find what I’m about to share with you in Asheville.
Now, I have been saying for a long time ASHEVILLE IS A CULINARY MECCA, and if you are someone who is truly adventurous you are going to want to try this, because Asheville is full of hip places (nothing wrong with that) but we have so much more than that. Eating bugs is for the INDIANA JONES in you.
I met Johnny Scorza on a cold Sunday morning not long ago, at the FLEA MARKET IN FLETCHER. This place is like a trip to México y’all. If you have not been, MAKE A POINT TO VISIT.
A while back I took a couple friends of mine, they are not latinos…. they had smoked some funny stuff and they had a blast and full belly by the end of our trip.
Anyway, this time I went with my friend James, owner and Chef of Blue Dream Curry ( A kick ass curry house in downtown Asheville) . We went to the flea market because I wanted to have a good Mexican breakfast, and to film a few takes for a video we are making about PUPUSAS.
Suddenly, I noticed a table with a sign advertising CHAPULINES= GRASSHOPPERS, I told him, man we gotta check this out! As soon as I got a closer look, I noticed there was more than grasshoppers, I saw WORMS, as they are easy to recognize, and then some other things that I could not tell.
I knew right then, that for the real foodie, this table needed to be known in Asheville. You see, we all love Mexican Cuisine, but what we currently know as Mexican Food, is a mix of Native American Ingredients and culture, with a good portion of European influence.
Here is the video, I have included all the info for you to get a hold of Johnny.
