In the last month, I have spent time working among friends in West Asheville, gathering Food, Supplies, and Water for friends and neighbors, bringing Food, Supplies, and Water to ground zero in Marshall NC, and offering support in Swannanoa NC. The communities in Marshall NC and Swannanoa NC have shown immense resilience, with neighbors and friends stepping up in every way imaginable.
Recovery efforts for Western North Carolina continue, and it’s evident that this path will last many months, if not years. The experience of facing Hurricane Helene in Asheville has created stronger bonds among residents. As rebuilding continues, the importance of community efforts and the generosity of others has become even more apparent.
Today is October 30, a little over a month since our community was hit. This blog intends to follow the long-term recovery process, shining a light on the contributions of those who have worked tirelessly in Western North Carolina and beyond. Thank you for your ongoing support and for caring about our home.
